Explore the heart of our county’s story, from coal and culture to the people who shaped these mountains. Every artifact, photo, and exhibit invites you to reconnect with the past and experience the pride, resilience, and spirit of Harlan.
Step into the Historic Harlan Museum and explore a compelling journey through the people, places, and pivotal moments that shaped our mountain home. Featuring 12 permanent exhibits which includes 3 rotating installations that change every six months, the museum offers a fresh perspective with each visit. Home to the Cawood Ledford Exhibit, it pays tribute to the legendary voice of the Kentucky Wildcats and one of Harlan’s most cherished ambassadors.
