The Coal Miner Run for Clean Lungs 5K and Fun Walk

Some races are about the finish line. This one’s about something bigger.
We’re proud to help share The Coal Miner Run for Clean Lungs, happening July 25th at Martins Fork Lake here in Harlan County. This 5K run and fun walk is all about raising awareness for miners affected by black lung while giving folks a chance to experience one of the most beautiful courses you’ll find anywhere.
Expect a little bit of everything. This is a mild course that wraps around a section of Martin Fork Lake with views of the Appalachian Mountains that’ll stay with you long after the race is over.
This event is being organized by Destiny Carr, and it’s rooted in something deeply personal and meaningful. It’s a chance for our community to show up, support one another, and honor the hardworking folks who built these mountains.
