A dream still coming true over a century later!
William Creech Sr. donated land for the purpose of establishing a school to educate mountain people. Over 100 years later, his dream continues to come true! Pine Mountain Settlement School began as a boarding school for area children. Today, the school operates as a non-profit with the mission of enriching people and enhancing lives through Appalachian place-based education for all ages.
Groups travel to the school to immerse themselves in Appalachian culture, experience the unmatched beauty of Pine Mountain, and marvel at the striking architecture of the historic buildings.
